Help Wanted: The Arts and Biz Parade

Help Wanted: The Arts and Biz Parade
Pair artists with businesses. Create parade floats and favors. Make the business known. Make the artist appreciated. Make advertising obsolete.

Artists and students spend time with local small businesses and develop a visual object to represent the business in the Parade of Small Business.

Artists and business owners learn about the value and image of the business by asking questions: What do you sell? What are your values? What do you want to say to your customers? What do you have to give to your community beyond your primary product? Are your discarded materials potentially good art making supplies? Community and economy come together in an artful image. A relationship is built.

The meaning of success in this repeating project:

Increase appreciation and awareness of local businesses, new and old.
Create an appreciation for local artists within the business community.
Create a network among businesses and artists.
Connect incoming economy with existing one.
